I was blessed by 3 simple people that Jesus met (all in Luke), and the very brief simple things they said that glorified God greatly. They also all received salvation:

1. "Thank you"

"Now one of them, when he saw that he had been healed, turned back, glorifying God with a loud voice, 16 and he fell on his face at His feet, giving thanks to Him. And he was a Samaritan" (Luke 17:15-16)

The first is the Samaritan who came to Jesus with leprocy and received salvation because he said 'thank you' (in verse 15 he gave gratitude, and the Lord proceeded to say "Your faith has saved you" in verse 19).  I was blessed recently to read, "Even if the only 2 words we ever prayed were 'thank you' it is enough".  That's helped me to not worry about my prayers being too complex - as long as they are coming from a 'groan of gratitude', they are precious to the Lord.

2. "Remember me, Lord"

And he was saying, “Jesus, remember me when You come in Your kingdom!” Luke 23:43

This reminded me of the thief on the cross - he was saved after only saying 'remember me Lord'.  It's amazing that this man got salvation after ONLY those few words to Jesus.  He had a simple, honest heart, looking to Jesus for mercy. He realized that 'I'm a sinner" and was grateful of God's mercy.  God is so merciful as to receive such a simple honest heart (if it is sincere), and He is glorified and blessed.

3. "Lord, don't trouble yourself further"

Now Jesus started on His way with them; and when He was not far from the house, the centurion sent friends, saying to Him, “Lord, do not trouble Yourself further, for I am not worthy for You to come under my roof" Luke 7:6

God is glorified when we refuse to worry.

The centurion in Luke 7:6 said, "Lord, don't trouble yourself further..."

It sounds like the centurion was so casual, as if he was saying "Lord, you'll take care of it, no problem."  And it says Jesus MARVELED at him.  It challenged me - I can bless the Lord by having a 'casual' attitude toward my problems.  It's not the same as a 'careless' attitude.  It's a casual attitude because I have such a high view of God that He easily controls everything in the universe, that the panic and the fretting is gone. It doesn't say the centurion was saved here, but I believe he was; because to people of faith Jesus says 'Your faith has saved you' (Luke 7:50).

I was blessed by these 3 simple people. It's encouraging me to have the same simple, sincere attitude. It's not a multitude of words, but sincere groans with a couple words of faith, thanksgiving, honesty, cries for mercy and help that blesses the Lord's heart.
